This small island is an
ecological paradise. Private
homes are dotted around
the shoreline. Our beach is shared
with four other houses which
are occupied only occasionally.
The interior is virgin forest,
no roads, cars, or electricity.
The guest house has its own
generator, and solar energy
provides light for late night
reading and bathrooms.
We get Sky, CNN, and BBC
television service in English.
You can walk around the
island’s shoreline in about
3 hours. Swimming is safe
and on magic nights there is
phosphorescence in the water.
The island is green year-round
due to frequent but brief rain
showers. Three private wells

supply the house with pure,
unchlorinated water.
Bird watchers have identified
34 different species over a
weekend period, and flocks of
parrots nest in the bamboo
grove near the house.
